What is CGPA?
CGPA (Cumulative Grade Point Average) is an educational grading system used by universities and colleges to measure the overall academic performance of a student. Introduced by the CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education), CGPA scores on a scale of 0 and 10, where 10 is the maximum achievable score, and 0 is the lowest.
How to convert CGPA to Percentage?
To convert your CGPA score into a percentage, simply multiply your CGPA by 9.5. For instance, if your CGPA is 8.6, the equivalent percentage would be 81.7% (8.6 x 9.5). Thus, add your scores in all the subjects, and divide the total by the number of subjects. This will be your final CGPA. Now, multiply it by 9.5 to convert it into a percentage.
What is GPA?
GPA (Grade Point Average) is used in high schools and universities, mainly in the US, to measure a student’s performance and academic achievement. It is the sum of all your course grades throughout your high school career divided by the total number of credits. GPA has three types of scales: 4.0, 4.3 and 5.0. The most common scale is 4.0.
How to convert Percentage to GPA?
To convert your percentage to GPA (4.0), simply divide your percentage by 25.
For example, if your percentage is 73%, the equivalent GPA would be 2.92 (73/25).
As some universities use GPA (4.3), you can easily convert your percentage by multiplying it by 4.3 and then dividing by 100.
For example, with a percentage of 83%, the equivalent GPA (4.3) would be 3.5 [(83 x 4.30/100]
To convert your percentage to GPA (5.0), simply divide your percentage by 20.
For example, if your percentage is 89%, the equivalent GPA would be 4.45 (89/20).
What is the UK Grading System?
The UK grading system is divided into four classes: first class, upper second class, lower second class and third class. This system aims to be more specific in describing students’ academic achievement. The UK grading system highlights your academic strengths and specific skills, therefore, it helps employers gain a better understanding of your true potential.
Some universities have different ranges for Upper and Lower Second Classes according to their curriculums. The minimum requirement for International Students to get admission to UK universities is Lower-Second Class.
